Product test: E-Beefer top heat grill
Branding power from the socket
Test: Elmar Fetscher
This shook up the barbecue industry a few years ago when Frank Hecker and his team launched the top-heat grill in 2012. A lot has happened since then. After copycat products flooded the market and prices plummeted, the Beefer had to show its strength. Prove it was the original with consistency and innovation. The E-Beefer is the latest development from the Beefer brand. Heat development was of particular interest for the FIRE&FOOD test. Can the E-Beefer reach the 800°C mark?
Data and assembly
The E-Beefer is delivered fully assembled. The stainless steel housing measures 240 mm wide x 400 mm high x 560 mm deep. Easy to use – plug it into a 220 V outlet, turn it on, and the 2.6 kW power will heat the Beefer up to temperature in just a short time.
Operational
The special advantage of the E-Beefer is its ability to be used indoors in the kitchen. This allows you to prepare your steak in any weather. It's worth mentioning that the kitchen should ideally be equipped with a good smoke extractor. And it works! After just a short time, the thermometer in the upper cooking chamber reads 780°C. Perfect for beefing.
1. The large fan ensures that the case does not get too hot.
2. The heating coil provides even heat distribution at 800 °C.
3. Enough slots for the appropriate distance to the burner.
4. GN grease drip tray
5. Rubber protectors for scratch-free, firm stand.
6. On/off switch
Conclusion:
The E-Beefer features high-quality workmanship and is in no way inferior to a gas-powered top-heat grill in terms of performance. A particular advantage is its indoor approval, making the E-Beefer a suitable top-heat grill for everyday use by ambitious steak grillers and restaurateurs.
The E-Beefer has a recommended retail price of €799. www.beefer.de
