Product test: MASPORT SS4 – The Kiwi among gas grills

Still unknown in Europe, but already a classic in the southern hemisphere - the grill range from Masport Limited. Founded in 1910 as a family business in Auckland, New Zealand, the Masport brand has become a symbol of good quality and reliable outdoor equipment for generations of New Zealanders and wants to prove this in Europe too. FIRE&FOOD was provided with the Masport S/S4 for testing, a gas grill with four stainless steel burners (3.5 kW), packed in a stainless steel housing.

Assembly
The assembly was easy and in 1 1/2 hours
by one person.

Operation
The grill surface of 77 x 44 cm, which is equipped with a cast iron plate and a cast iron grate, offers plenty of space. During the heating test, the grill reached a cooking chamber temperature of 300 °C after around 15 minutes. The clearly arranged and stable fittings, the viewing window in the cooking chamber lid with integrated temperature display, the side burner and the drip tray with cutting board are easy to use in practical applications and make the grill an all-rounder.

Conclusion:
The Masport S/S4, a grill for every day. Simple appearance and equipped with everything you need to create the perfect grilled meal. There are only a few points of criticism. These include poorly executed operating instructions, the deburring of the metal parts could be done a little more carefully, the distance between the bars on the grill grate could be a little closer and the side shelf for the side cooker would benefit from another fastening screw. The Masport deserves a special plus point for the UV-resistant cover that is included in the price.

The MASPORT S/S4 is available from 629 euros.
