Closeness to the reader – FIRE&FOOD leaves kiosk
After almost 25 years, FIRE&FOOD is no longer available at newsstands. The number of people who still buy their reading material from newsstands is steadily declining. This development is also taking its toll on FIRE&FOOD: Other distribution channels – such as specialist retailers and digital newsstands – are now more effective and profitable.
The decision to leave the newsstand was not an easy one. Especially in the early days, the newsstand brought FIRE&FOOD many readers. We fondly remember the times when you could pop into the newsstand during a train journey to browse the latest releases – and discover FIRE&FOOD in the process. But those days are over: reading habits have changed, as have the ways in which people consume entertainment and information.
Starting with the upcoming 4/2026 issue, newsstand customers should therefore prepare for this new situation and conveniently receive their issue by subscribing in the FIRE&FOOD shop. Single issues remain available from barbecue retailers and many specialty butcher shops.
