BORN TO GRILL: Hot BBQ book by Gerhard Volk and colleagues

Now NEW in the FIRE&FOOD Shop : a grill book whose title is a clear statement: "BORN TO GRILL". It contains more than 100 recipes on 288 pages. These include BBQ classics such as pulled pork and beef brisket as well as fish, game, poultry, homemade sausage and desserts from the grill. A 32-page "grill school" chapter also gives the reader the necessary know-how.

The recipes in BORN TO GRILL come from 20 grill masters, including Patrick Bayer (Pulled Pork World Champion 2017) and Bernhard Reiser (“The Chic Chef”). On the initiative of co-editor Gerhard Volk, they came together during the lockdown. “We made a virtue out of necessity,” says Gerhard Volk. “Our cooking and grill schools are very busy all year round. Now we’ve had time to hone our recipes and turn them into a joint book.” Co-editor Ulf Tietge adds: “We’ve proven that too many cooks don’t spoil the broth.” His publishing house team tietge developed and implemented the idea together with Gerhard Volk. From June to August, the team was on site at grill academies in Germany and Austria. The result should be an inspiration for beginners and advanced grillers alike. Because – as Volk and Tietge state in the editorial: “Grilling is a lifestyle.”

Ulf Tietge is the editor of the gourmet magazine #heimat Schwarzwald, loves to grill and cook and is a long-time friend of Gerhard Volk. Grill master Gerhard Volk is a multi-award-winning chef (Culinary Olympics), grill and cooking school director and developed the concept of the Weber Grill Academy with grill manufacturer Weber.
