The new FIRE&FOOD will be released on July 2nd!
My personal summer hit is grilling on the Yakiniku .
Dear readers,
Convenience and lifestyle are the two factors driving the barbecue boom. Barbecuing is actually a simple matter - light a campfire, sharpen a stick, skewer the food - and that's it. You can also dig a hole in the ground for a BBQ, which wouldn't be too much of a hassle for many people. This is more convenient with a grill with a lid, and there are also tools for monitoring the cooking status that allow you to do the work practically from your lounger. Then there is the lifestyle aspect, since the car has lost a lot of its prestige and the grill is on its way to taking its place. So it's not surprising that the market is constantly producing new and even more convenient gadgets, of course with web connectivity and attractive grill designs. At the same time, however, you can also observe a division among grill users. Some swear by digital technology and others who seek the simplicity of a simple fireplace.
And which path is your path? I look forward to your answers at ef@fire-food.com.
In this issue we are once again presenting new grills (from page 18) and grill accessories (from page 6). Anyone planning to buy a new grill may have to expect waiting times. After checking with the grill manufacturers, the delivery bottlenecks will remain for the next few months.
We've brought summer into the magazine with our recipe stories. Look forward to seafood and fish, celebrated on the grill by Thomas Eriksson-Fröhlich (from page 12), the latest salad trends from Andrew Fordyce (from page 70) and the veggie recipes from Klaus Breinig (from page 84). And for gin lovers, Stefan Brüderl has mixed classics and new gin cocktails that are really something (from page 78). My personal summer hit is grilling on the Yakiniku (see picture). You can find out what's behind this grilling method from page 30. Summer can come!
As things currently stand, there won't be any major barbecue events until August. However, many barbecue schools are offering courses again in July. Check them out, they're looking forward to being able to barbecue with and for you again. The traffic light is already green for the Baden-Württemberg hunting fair DIE HUBERT, which will take place in September, and we look forward to you visiting us for a halali from September 17th to 19th at the Albgut in Münsingen.
Stay healthy everyone! Always a great heat under the grill wishes you
