FIRE&FOOD Grill-Up – WBQA European Plancha Championship 2026

This year, the WBQA European Barbecue Championship for Planchas and Fire Plates will take place at the FIRE&FOOD BBQ WEEK in Cologne. On Saturday and Sunday (September 5th and 6th, 2026), the first FIRE&FOOD Grillup will be all about the professional preparation of grilled delicacies on the plancha.

Barbecue teams from all over Europe will battle it out in various categories at the first FIRE&FOOD Grillup for the title of "WBQA European Plancha Champion 2026". This great opportunity to give the plancha broad public attention once again was the decisive argument for FIRE&FOOD to hold a European Barbecue Championship.

After the WBQA agreed to adjust its competition criteria for the FIRE&FOOD Grillup after the first negotiation talks, FIRE&FOOD acquired the license for the competition. We are delighted to bring the barbecue elite from all over Europe together in Cologne.

Following a successful press event in Mallorca, Planchamania, the Grillup in Cologne offers another opportunity to highlight the versatility of the plancha.
