German Grill Master 2023 comes from Stuttgart!

Open-air debut impresses with festival character / Stuttgart team Real Smoke BBQ wins German barbecue championship
The premiere of the International German Grill and BBQ Championship has come to a successful conclusion. A total of around 6,000 participants flocked to the event on the grounds of the Stuttgart Trade Fair, which was the first trade fair to be held entirely outdoors. The German champions were the Real Smoke BBQ team from Stuttgart, and the awards ceremony took place on Sunday evening. The international title was won by Tiroler Gluat from Innsbruck (Austria), while the amateur competition went to Brandstifter BBQ from Leinfelden-Echterdingen, also from the Stuttgart area.

Around 40 teams, 80 exhibitors, over 600 grills and 15,000 euros in prize money
Around 40 teams and 80 exhibitors were on site, and there were over 600 grills to admire. An extensive supporting program with grill shows and panel discussions as well as the live band Friendly Elf rounded off the open-air event with a festival character. The event gave insights into current trends in the grill world and invited people to shop and feast at a variety of exhibition stands. The grill teams could take part with a maximum of ten people. This year, a total of over 15,000 euros in prize money and non-cash prizes awaited the winners. The jury consisted of GBA-certified jurors.

Grill World Championship next year also in Stuttgart
The next major barbecue event will take place on July 27 and 28, 2024 at the Stuttgart Trade Fair. The GBA will then be hosting the Barbecue World Championship together with the World Barbecue Association ( WBQA ) and the Stuttgart Trade Fair. The organizers are expecting a further significant increase in teams and exhibitors. Before that, the Baden-Württemberg Barbecue Championship will take place for the third time as part of the Stuttgart Spring Fairs at the BBQ Days . The Spring Fairs begin on April 4 and end on April 7, 2024.
