More about FIRE&FOOD

Turning a hobby into a profession

Elmar's passion for grilling and his desire to pursue a career in the field of barbecue were great from an early age. There were hardly any professional publications on the subject in Europe at the beginning of the 2000s. With an eye on the traditional and multifaceted BBQ culture in the USA, the idea for FIRE&FOOD was born.

The first issue of FIRE&FOOD was published in 2002. It was a huge success! FIRE&FOOD is Europe's first and oldest German-language grill and barbecue magazine. As an author, Elmar Fetscher has also contributed to book publications by other publishers.

Firmly anchored in the scene

In addition to his work as publisher and editor-in-chief, Elmar is active as a member of various organizations such as the Barbecue Industry Association Grill eV (BIAG), the World BBQ Culinary Association Ltd. (WBQA) and the German , Swiss and Austrian Barbecue Association. In 2014, he also started the event project "BBQ WEEK" . Elmar Fetscher can regularly be found at grill and barbecue trade fairs and at BBQ events at home and abroad.
