Don Marco's original salt plank for grilling and barbecue

Do you want to give your fish or meat a completely new taste without putting in a lot of effort? Whether it's fish, shrimp, poultry, steak or vegetables. Don Marco's original salt plank is exactly the right plank for you. The salt plank is easy to use and just as easy to clean. Heat the plank slowly over indirect heat and oil and season the food, but don't add salt. That's it. Now put the food on the salt plank and you're done. A slightly salty crust with perfect roasted aromas will quickly form on the hot salt, while the food is gently grilled.

Preparation of steak:
Take the steak out of the fridge about 1 hour before grilling and bring it to a light temperature so that it is no longer so cold inside. Unpack the salt plank and warm it up over indirect heat of ~100-150°C for about 20-30 minutes. Then switch to high heat and bring the salt plank to the target temperature over indirect or direct heat. A temperature of about 250-300°C is ideal. If you let a drop of water drip onto the salt plank, it should immediately evaporate with a hiss. Lightly oil the steak and then grill it on the salt plank. Turn it over after about 45-60 seconds and repeat this several times if necessary until the desired roasted aromas are achieved. Then cook it over indirect heat of about 120-130°C to the desired degree of doneness. A core temperature of about 53-54°C is ideal for a medium steak. Now let the steak rest for a short time and then cut it up and serve. Add some more seasoning if desired.

The Don Marco's salt plank can be used multiple times. After use, simply clean it with a damp cloth and then let it air dry.
