Ginger Schnitzel Japanese Style

Ingredients

• 4 pork cutlets or
Minute steaks (approx. 600 g)
• 4 tablespoons sugar
• 1 tbsp sesame oil
• Salt
• Pepper

For the marinade:
• 1 large piece of ginger,
approx. 12 cm long
• 6 tbsp soy sauce
• 3 tbsp sake
• 3 tbsp rice wine


preparation

Rinse the meat with cold water and pat dry, flatten slightly if necessary. Rub the sugar all over and place in a shallow bowl. For the marinade, peel the ginger and grate finely - press it with a garlic press if necessary and mix with the other ingredients. Pour over the meat and leave to marinate at room temperature for around 20-30 minutes. In the meantime, preheat the grill. Remove the schnitzels from the marinade and drain. Grill at a medium temperature until cooked through. To serve, season with salt and pepper and drizzle with sesame oil.
