BBQ Bacon Sandwich Henry
Barbecues offer a welcome change of pace for preparing the next delicious meal together. Outside on the balcony or patio, you can often take things a little more relaxed. This also provides an opportunity to educate children, depending on their age, about the dangers of fire and, if necessary, introduce them to safe fire handling.
This, of course, includes the fact that the use of spirits and other liquid fire accelerants to ignite charcoal is life-threatening and therefore taboo. After all, there are various reliable firelighters on the market in liquid, creamy, gel-like, or solid forms. They are TÜV and DIN-EN tested and clearly indicate this on the packaging with the appropriate symbols. However, to avoid leaving an undesirable aftertaste on the grilled food, they must be completely burned before the first food touches the hot grill. Then nothing stands in the way of shared grilling and dining pleasure – the perfect recipe comes from FIRE&FOOD:
Ingredients (for 2 servings):
- 4 slices of toast
- 2 eggs
- 4 tsp of your favorite BBQ sauce
- 1 ball of mozzarella
- 16 slices of bacon (breakfast bacon)
- If you like: fresh, chopped herbs such as parsley and chives for garnishing
Preparation:
Using a glass, pierce the largest possible hole in the center of two slices of toast. Place all four slices of toast on a hot griddle and crack an egg into each hole. Turn over after about 2-3 minutes. Spread the two toasted slices of toast without a hole with the BBQ sauce and place the sliced mozzarella on top. Place the slices of toast with the egg on top and cut the two sandwiches diagonally in half. Then wrap the sandwich triangles with the bacon slices and grill on the griddle until crispy and golden brown.
