The new FIRE&FOOD will be released on November 18th!

The new issue 04/22 awaits you on November 18th, 2022 under the title "Best Barbecue - Hot grill recipes for the cold season" with many exciting topics from the BBQ world.

Dear readers,

Inflation has been coming at us in big steps for months. The specter of recession is looming and consumer sentiment is plummeting. But there is actually no reason for the barbecue business to worry. We assume that - as always in times of crisis - it can even profit. This was the case with the currency changeover from the DM to the euro, during the financial and stock market crisis and also during the corona crisis. Who would have thought that barbecue sales would explode during this time. Only the (in)ability to deliver set limits to growth. However, this extreme growth tempted retailers to really go for it when they pre-ordered last autumn. At the time, no one had expected a war in Ukraine that would put an end to the horrendous growth. The consequence of this is that retailers still have a lot of goods in their stores at the end of the year and the pessimists are pushing their way to the forefront. But if you look more closely, most companies' sales in 2022 are still significantly higher than in the pre-Corona year of 2019. So it's all good, the market is working, and sales growth will settle back to a healthy level in 2023. Because as always in times of crisis, people retreat into their homes, into their gardens. As herd animals, however, they don't want to be alone there. So they have a barbecue and invite their friends over.

In this issue, we're once again providing plenty of inspiration with tasty and inexpensive grilled food. Such as the tried-and-tested pork neck or roast beef. Northern lights Stefan Runge and Tim Woitaske show us that game is always a good grilling option. Our opinion: best stress-free meat!

Oh, and there was something else - the barbecue recipes for the World Cup. This usual section will not be included in FIRE&FOOD for this World Cup. We have our opinion on this and we will not mention the event in our print editions or on social media. We hope for your understanding.

Our FIRE&FOOD shop is actually a success story. The shop has literally exploded in our faces over the last two years. With enormous growth, driven in part by the enthusiasm of our fans to order, the shop took on a dimension in 2021 that could no longer be managed on the side. In order to live up to our brand claim in terms of quality and service, we therefore had to scale down the shop's offering. For the past few weeks, we have been putting together a new team for this area. We assume that we will be able to offer you a grilled range again from January!

And unfortunately that has to happen now: After a tough struggle, we too have to raise the prices for our print magazine. The sharp rise in paper and logistics costs makes this necessary. We have tried to keep the price increase of 2 euros for the annual subscription as moderate as possible. We hope you accept it!
Please mark it in your calendar: the BBQ WEEK from May 18th to 20th, 2023. We would be delighted if you would visit us in the Swabian Alb.

Burn on! Stay healthy everyone!
Always a great heat under the grill wishes you
