Restaurant tip: FLIETEN FRANZ food stall!

Don't call it chicken wings! And eat your way to happiness... Is everything stupid out there? Then perhaps a wonderful eating experience will help, one that not only caresses your palate, but also embraces your soul. Like you might remember from your childhood. When mom or grandma could make the world a little bit better with lunch. That's possible at Flieten Franz in Trier.

In a former snack bar, the national dish of this region is served hot, greasy and extremely happy on the table or in the food packages. We are talking about crispy fried chicken wings that are spicy on the outside and tender as butter on the inside. And don't even think about comparing them to well-known fast food. Because that would be a real sacrilege. What does all this have to do with BBQ? Well, that's another culinary mainstay that Max, the brains behind and in front of Flieten Franz, was able to use to survive the Corona period. Thanks to a voucher he won for shopping at a large butcher's shop, which was intended to support local restaurants - but which had to pass on the topic of chicken wings. The solution was obvious for Max's buddy Dave, who, as a Texan, has barbecue in his blood. Real BBQ, prepared in the smoke of a wood fire. He always wanted to do it on a larger scale. And so the two of them didn't hesitate for long and launched "Franz Fackelt". No half measures, but with an impressive smoker from the forge of US barbecue legend Myron Mixon. For the simple reason that Myron was the only one who took the greenhorns from Trier seriously. Now ox & pork enrich the menu at Flieten Franz, whether in the food stall on site or for catering from the food truck. Every Saturday there are delicious specials, what exactly is communicated via the social media channels - where you should also check whether the location has changed before visiting from further away.
